Cardiac Catheterization and Balloon Dilation

Some congenital heart defects can be improved by procedures involving passing catheters (balloon dilation catheters) down into the heart from a blood vessel in the neck. These are minimally invasive procedures that avoid chest surgery.

MedVet’s Columbus Cardiology Team is currently enrolling cats in 3 clinical trials. If your cat suffers from congestive heart failure, hyperthyroidism, or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, one of these trials may help provide care for your pet. Please contact our department for additional information.
