Robert John Starkey, DVM, DACVIM

Dr. StarkeyRobert John Starkey, DVM, DACVIM, founded the Internal Medicine Department at MedVet Columbus in 1990.

Dr. Starkey specializes in endoscopy, laparoscopy, interventional radiology and the use of percutaneous gastrostomy tubes for the management of chronic renal failure patients. He is an innovator in his specialty and has developed instruments used to aid in removing gastric foreign bodies endoscopically permitting many patients to avoid more invasive surgical procedures.

In addition to TV news interviews on emerging topics such as canine influenza, Dr. Starkey’s work has been published in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
