Linda B. Lehmkuhl, DVM, MS, DACVIM (Cardiology), is a Veterinary Cardiology Specialist at MedVet and has been on staff since 2000. She is the Department Head of Cardiology and Internal Medicine, Co-Director of the Clinical Studies Center, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors. She was an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine from 1993 through 1999.
Dr. Lehmkuhl’s comforting bedside manner and attention to detail while caring for her patients is greatly appreciated by clients and referring veterinarians.
Her clinical research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Journal of Veterinary Cardiology, Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Journal of Veterinary Research, Pacing and Clinical Electrophysiology, and the Journal of American Society of Echocardiography. She is the cardio-respiratory section co-editor of a leading veterinary textbook, Current Veterinary Therapy XIII. She has served as a reviewer for most of the leading veterinary journals.
Dr. Lehmkuhl is frequently invited to lecture on clinical cardiology topics at both the national and international level including speaking at the World Animal Hospital Association Lecture Series throughout Japan.
Dr. Lehmkuhl serves as a consultant for numerous pharmaceutical companies developing new treatments for heart disease. Under Dr. Lehmkuhl’s leadership, the Cardiology Department at MedVet has participated in numerous multicenter clinical trials leading to the development and use of new diagnostic techniques and medical therapies for heart disease in dogs and cats.
