Brian JeffersonBrian Jefferson, DVM, is the Department Head of the Emergency Department at MedVet Columbus and has been on staff since 1997.

Dr. Jefferson’s thoughtful approach to keep the client an informed participant in their pet’s care is a vital aspect of his professional philosophy. During veterinary school, his eight-year old Labrador retriever, Nadia, suddenly fell ill. She was taken to MedVet and Dr. Jefferson was immediately struck by the teamwork and keen skill that the MedVet team brought to the care of his dog. Nadia was diagnosed with Lymphoma but lived another two years thanks to the dedication of her MedVet team.

Through this experience, Dr. Jefferson gained great respect for the multi-disciplinary approach and compassion at MedVet. He applied and was accepted into the general rotating internship program at MedVet. After completing his internship he was hired as a fulltime emergency veterinarian. Today, Dr. Jefferson leads the Emergency Department with a focus to provide an ever-improving client, patient and referring veterinarian experience.
